Heavens In My Heart

What does Heaven look like?
Is it pretty? Is it white?
Is there only goodness up there?
Does it always shine so bright?

Do the stars reach up to Heaven?
Can you hold one in your hand?
Does the ocean gleam with silver?
Can you run on golden sands?

Is it filled with any angels?
Are their halos on their heads?
Are they dressed in silk pyjamas?
Do they sleep on clouds for beds?

~~~~~~ღϠ₡ღ ~~~~~~~~~

Do the angels watch from Heaven?
All the things we do each day?
Did they get unhappy with me
On the nights I didn’t pray?

~~~~~~ღϠ₡ღ ~~~~~~~~~

Are there gardens up in Heaven?
Do the flowers bloom all year?
Is their fragrance that much sweeter
Then it is in gardens here?

Is there music up in Heaven?
Do the angels dance around?
Are there harps and trumpets playing?
Do they make a joyous sound?

Are there lambs in Heavens’ meadows?
Are there doves in Heavens’ skies?
Are there places you can play with
Brightly colored butterflies?

~~~~~~~~ღϠ₡ღ ~~~~~~

Are there pets allowed in Heaven?
Fuzzy kittens running free?
If I saw my puppy up there
Do you think he’d come to me?

~~~~~~~ღϠ₡ღ ~~~~~~~~

Are there pillars draped with satin?
Are there benches made of gold?
Can you live up there forever
Without ever growing old?

Oh, I may not know the answers.
But I know where Heaven starts;
When I show my love for others,
I know Heaven’s in my heart.

And never, never, ever throw your hat upon the bed,
Or open an umbrella when you are in the house.
You'll bite your tongue each time you say

You'll hold your breath and cross your fingers

If God did not make Angels, then who would want to die?
How could there be a Heaven in that great place in the sky?
If God did not make Angels, then who could sing and play
And evermore watch over us each moment, every day?
He chooses them so carefully and often they are small,
His babies are most innocent, and some aren't born at all.
These cherubs are a special gift sent down for us to love,
If only for a little while until they're called above.
If you conceived an Angel that was not meant to stay,
Then do not grieve and make it sad, just let it go and play,
For Heaven is a special place where we all wish to go,
Our Angels will be waiting there for all of us, you know,
And when we see their faces and their little golden smile,
We'll know our precious Angels only left for a short while.
We'll cuddle them and smother them with kisses filled with love,
That day we meet our Angels in God's nursery up above.
